Artists and artistic collectives are invited to submit concepts that will deliver a high impact and visually engaging hoarding panel to appear on the Festival Plaza redevelopment site for up to 12 months.
Renewal SA, on behalf of the Riverbank Authority, is looking for an emerging South Australian artistic individual or group:
with an extensive understanding and passion for public art
that possess the ability to demonstrate the positive role art plays in our community’s health and wellbeing
who are able to provoke natural curiosity and create conversations, while enhancing the fabric and vibrancy of a space.
Artists are encouraged to think outside the square when designing the hoarding along Elder Park.
The design should consider the location, visibility, lighting options, and enhances surrounding land, sound and street scapes — a concept that viewers can interact and engage with.
High artistic exposure along the Adelaide Riverbank
Public display of artwork for up to 12 months on a prominent, 10-metre section of hoarding along Elder Park
A promotional space on the hoarding to provide the work’s context and to highlight and promote the successful artist/artist team
Social media campaign to promote the successful artist, their artistic journey, the story behind the winning design, and the progress of the work’s installation.
