New Adelaide Riverbank app as works begin on $900m Festival Plaza redevelopment
Work has begun to transform the Adelaide Festival Plaza into a world-class destination at the heart of the Adelaide Riverbank with the construction of new access to the Riverbank Footbridge underway.
It coincides with the launch of a new smartphone app to help people find their way around the precinct as temporary changes are introduced for pedestrians and traffic.
The Adelaide Riverbank app can communicate project updates, and provide information about navigating around the precinct, events, activities and dining options.
The start of construction will lead to the closure of the northern entrance to the Adelaide Railway Station from 6 December and the closure of the Adelaide Festival Centre car park from 30 December.
Maps will be on display in key locations throughout the precinct to help people find their way. There will be volunteers in and around Adelaide Railway Station during key major events to help direct people, and information pods will be installed in the concourse with information and further details for commuters
The Riverbank Footbridge will remain open during the redevelopment however access to the bridge will be reduced to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians.
